Let's Ride
Aurora Wake ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Let's Ride mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use the App.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account using Google or Apple Sign-In, we collect your name and email address from the authentication provider.
Profile Information
You may provide additional profile information including:
- Display name
- Phone number
- Profile photo
- Water sport preferences (surf, wakeboard, ski, foil)
- Role (rider or captain)
- Venmo and Cash App handles (for coordinating expense splitting among your group)
Location Data
When you start a ride session, we collect GPS coordinates, speed, and accuracy data to track your session on the water. Location data is collected only while a session is actively recording. We also collect location coordinates for planned ride sessions you create, and use this information to identify weather conditions at your planned ride location. This information is also shared with the users invited on the ride.
Contacts
With your permission, we access your device contacts (names and phone numbers) to help you find friends who already use the App. Contact data is used only for friend matching and is not stored beyond what is needed for this purpose.
Boat Information
If you are a captain, you may add boat details including boat name, type, seat count, seat layout, and photos.
Ride Session Data
We collect data about your ride sessions including date, start and end times, rider participants, individual ride segments, and optionally gas expenses.
Push Notification Tokens
We collect device push notification tokens to send you ride invitations and friend requests.
Photos
You may upload profile photos and boat photos, which are stored on our servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the App's core features (ride tracking, session planning, friend coordination)
- Enable social features such as friend requests, ride invitations, and community sharing
- Send push notifications for ride invitations and friend requests
- Display weather forecasts for planned ride locations
- Detect and display the name of the water body where you are riding
- Improve and maintain the App
3. How We Share Your Information
With Other Users
- Your display name, profile photo, and sport preferences are visible to your friends within the App.
- When you are invited to or participate in a ride session, other participants can see your name and participation status.
- Payment handles (Venmo, Cash App) are visible to other riders in your sessions to facilitate expense splitting.
With Service Providers
We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

We Do Not
- Sell your personal information
- Share your data with data brokers
- Use third-party analytics or tracking services
4. Data Storage and Security
- Cloud storage: Account data, profiles, sessions, and social data are stored on Supabase (hosted infrastructure with row-level security policies).
- Local storage: Ride session data and GPS points are stored locally on your device in a SQLite database. Authentication tokens are stored in local device storage.
- Photos: Profile and boat photos are stored in Supabase Storage.
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data, but no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.
5. Data Retention
- Your data is retained as long as your account is active.
- Ride session data persists until you delete individual sessions.
- You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us (see below).
6. Your Choices
- Location: You can deny or revoke location permission in your device settings. The App requires location access to track ride sessions. This access is not required if you are using the "rider" role. If you are searching for nearby rides, you can enable this for the current session only.
- Contacts: Contact access is optional. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time.
- Push Notifications: You can disable notifications in your device settings.
- Profile Information: You can update or remove optional profile information (phone number, payment handles, photo) at any time within the App.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us so we can delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
